2023 Overlook Yard & Free Share

It’s time to do it again! This July 15th, from 10am-4pm, we will have more than 30 households participating in the Overlook Yard Sale, offering up a range of treasures from all across the neighborhood.

The map is still in development, since households have until July 9th to sign up. If you do want to participate, visit this page to fill out a super quick sign-up form: sustainableoverlook.org/sale-and-share We’ll post the map to that same page in the coming days!

The complementary Free Share will happen the next day, Sunday July 16th, in which yard sale hosts or anyone with unused items can set them out curbside with a FREE sign in the hopes they will be taken into another home, helping to extend their lifecycle and avoiding the landfill.

Hope to see you out there!

Except for that blip in 2020, we have done 11 years of collective Yard Sales & Free Shares here in Overlook, building on a tradition that has gone back decades. Deals abound, allowing neighbors to offload gently used items in the hopes they gain a new life with someone else.

The complementary Free Share will happen the next day, Sunday July 17th, in which yard sale hosts or anyone with unused items can set them out curbside with a FREE sign in the hopes they will be taken into another home, helping to extend their lifecycle and avoiding the landfill.

Hope to see you out there!

2020 Overlook Yard Sale Canceled

Amid all of the turbulence in 2020, we feel it is best to honor the ongoing social distancing guidelines and cancel this year’s neighborhood-wide yard sale, which typically occurs the 3rd weekend in July each year.

We do encourage you to consider participating in the Free Share during that weekend of July 18-19, in which you can place cleaned items curbside with a clearly-marked FREE sign, so that other neighbors may freely pick up and utilize items you no longer need or want. Please aim to pull back any remaining items by Sunday evening.
