Pesticide Free Overlook

In June 2013 Sustainable Overlook started a project to become Portland’s first pesticide free neighborhood. Nearly 400 households out of the 2,500 in the neighborhood have committed to landscaping without the use of toxic chemicals to protect our health (especially babies and kids, pregnant women and our pets), water and habitat for bees and wildlife.

Take the healthy lawn and garden pledge and get your FREE lady bug yard sign by emailing your name and address to:

sustainable@overlookneighborhood.org OR  pledge online by filling out this PLEDGE FORM.

Please note this pledge is for Overlook Neighborhood residents only. If you live elsewhere in the Portland Metro region, please pledge at Metro’s Healthy Lawn and Garden Pledge site. If you live in another area of the country, you can pledge and purchase yard signs at Beyond Pesticides. Thanks for going pesticide free!

Please allow 2-4 weeks for delivery of your sign by our volunteers on foot or bike. If you would like it sooner email sustainable@overlookneighborhood.org to arrange pick-up.

When you receive your sign, please hang it up where it can be seen by passers-by! The sign comes with two holes for screws or wire, and can easily be mounted on a post, fence or arbor.

Have questions about what it means to be pesticide free? Checkout metro’s Grow Smart, Grow Safe guide and see garden products listed according to safety so that you can choose the least toxic product or gardening method for the job. Also check out our FAQs.
